Erik Hoffacker poses for a portrait at his home in Wilmington, N.C. Hoffacker is running his 4th Quintiles Wrightsville Beach Half Marathon on March 16th. As a local REALTOR with three children, all of whom play travel athletics, Hoffacker considers practices as “appointments” on his calendar. Some practices start as early as 5:45 A.M. and Hoffacker feels like he’s seen a positive result in both work and training, “the more I’ve scheduled, the more I’ve been successful in both.” Setting a good example for his children is also a motivating factor, “I wanna show them health and fitness are important,” he says. As his children have grown they’ve become active in recreation league sports and have even run some 5K races with him. (Jason A. Frizzelle)
